Home Quarantine Activities

It's been 2 weeks since I've been in quarantine due to the Corona virus, since I got the virus. Luckily I can still do a lot of things inside, since I'm young. Medication doesn't really work, so I just simply drink a lot of tea and rest well. I'm pretty sure that, just like me, there are plenty of patients of the virus, who are forced inside, and have no idea what to do. I found a couple of fun, non energy draining, activities that help me through the day. Some of these might work for you too.

You can obviously do these too if you don't have the virus. They're also not for everyone, since these fit more into my own personal lifestyle. This isn't a to do list for everyone who's forced to stay inside. Also, none of the images are mine, I got them from Google.

  • Yoga

If you're healthy enough to exercise, please do. It's a great way of building health, get fit and do something fun in your day. Meditation for example is extremely useful, and can be done by everyone. Obviously you can also do a yoga routine, which i really like. But don't overwork yourself, you don't want to become (even more) sick. Pilates or dancing can also be fun sport exercises for inside.

  • Learn new recipes

If you have, like me, a lot of food supplies in your storage that you usually don't use for your meals, this one is quite fun. Try learning new recipes or practice in making recipes with the things you have, and not really use. For example, try making fried vegetables. Sounds weird, right? It's always worth a shot. Plus it's fun and takes up time that you needed to fill.

  • Pick up a new hobby

Maybe learn how to draw, or paint, try making a house of cards, write a song etc. It's quite beneficial to find a new hobby, and it can be very entertaining or even relaxing. Personally, I started doing fitness and watch a fun Japanese drama show named 'you're my pet'.

  • Read a book

You remember those things with letters that you could read without advertisements? I almost forgot about books, until I went up to the library in my attic and found some fun books. I found back some books about science, from 1989. It's quite fun to read a bit. And informative books also help you learn fun stuff. Of course novels and that kind of books are also fun to read.

  • Clean up

It may sound weird, but I enjoy cleaning things up. Cleaning up my bedroom, closet, bathroom, kitchen counters, you name it. It can be really fun and is also beneficial, since you remove the germs that can cause you being ill. I always listen to some music while cleaning up. Positive songs help you get in that good mood.

  • Search a new music genre

Since you have all time for yourself now, you can obviously also search for new music genres on your computer or phone. I got into Japanese Pop and the so called 'tiktok music', it's really fun and refreshing to get into a new kind of music. You may even find some gems from your past, and that's always fun. Let's get nostalgic baby, who's gonna put on some classic Backstreet Boys?

  • Binge 'till you cringe

If you have Netflix, Disney, Rakuten Viki, Amazon Prime Video or something like that, you can binge a lot of shows or watch a movie. It's really entertaining and doesn't take up a lot of energy, so it's good whenever you feel alright, or sick. It's a win win situation.

  • A spa day

Put on a mask, rinse your skin, scrub your lips, massage your feet etc. It's really cheap and you can stay inside for it. It's important to take care of yourself, and you surely will love it once you take just a little more care for yourself every once in a while. If you're not the only one in your household who's inside, you can also create a spa day together. It's a nice way to ask the other one for a head massage :)

These are some things that I've done in the past 2 weeks. I hope I gave you some ideas too for it. And of course, if you have any other activities or exercises, let me know! Have a wonderful day, and I hope you get well soon.
